            In Church History, behind every awakening God has used some men dedicated wholly to the Lord. He starts with a man, giving him a burden and vision, and then adds men with the same vision to fulfill His purposes.
             Rev. Paulose Kunnummel was the man, God has used as an instrument to bring this movement in Jacobite Christian Church. He came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ at an age of 13. His Sunday school teacher Late Bro. T.V. Adai was a godly man and an organizer of many prayer meetings. One of his meetings when Bro. Adai preached repentance young Paulose stood up for the Lord and submitted his life for the Lord.
             Paulose joined the Jacobite seminary at Puthencruz in 1963 with a thirst to serve the Lord. During the study period, he read many books, written by men of God, which added fervour to his spirit. In 1964 he became a deacon and in 1967 a priest in St.George Church Edamaruku, and St.Mary’s Church Muttam. As a young priest God has used him to conduct many meetings and proclaim the good news. Over the years God has given Rev.Fr.John Thomas Kanjiramalayil, Rev.Fr.Saju Varghese Kannamkuzhiyil, Rev.Fr.John Jacob Puthuran, and Rev.Fr. Jose Mathew Thadathil as co-workers.
             In 1973, Rev. Fr. Paulose Kunnummel (in his leadership) formed Edamaruku Christian Prayer Fellowship with an aim to proclaim the gospel and to preach repentance. Later they joined with St.Paul’s Prayer Fellowship and worked for the same vision. Rev.Fr.John Parappuzha, Vettithara and Rev. Fr.Varghese Kunnumpurath Senapathi were two other men of God, added to the fellowship at that time.
              In 1990 August 3rd, as the Lord had given them a vision to work completely for Him, Rev. Fr.Paulose Kunnummel, Rev.Fr.Saju Varghese, Rev.Fr.John Parappuzha, Rev.Fr.John Thomas, Rev.Fr.Jose Mathew with around 30 fellowship leaders and with many fellowship members resigned from the Jacobite church and formed Malankara Christian Church.
              Over the years God has added many faithful men and women of God to the church. They all had to pay a price to stand for the Lord, as they had to go through many challenges and trials. But the gracious Lord has given us grace to stand faithfully. Together we stand as the body of Christ, for the glorious appearing of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
              The present council of MCPF is headed by Rev.Paulose Kunnummel, Rev. John Thomas Kanjiramalayil as General Secretary, Rev. Varghese Kunnumpurath as treasurer, Rev.V.V.George as Office Administrator, Rev.Saju Varghese, Rev. John Parappuzha, Rev. T.M. Kuriachan, Rev.Babu P.P., Rev. N.M. Eldhose, and Rev. Jose M. P. as council members.
